A Bit About Meanwhile Way & Me *

‍ Hi, I'm Debbi.

Meanwhile Way didn't begin because I had life figured out. Quite the opposite. It grew from my own realization of how easy it is to become less and less present in your own life while, from the outside, everything appears to be going just fine. Like many women, I spent decades caring for others, raising a family, building a career, and navigating relationships, responsibilities, health challenges, grief and change. I became very good at showing up. What I hadn't fully recognized was how often I was showing up for everything and everyone except myself. There wasn't one dramatic moment when I suddenly disappeared. It happened gradually, in responsibilities, compromises, expectations and the thousand small adaptations we make to keep life moving. Eventually, something in me began asking for my attention. Not for a new life, but for my own presence in the life I was already living. That realization became part of the beginning of Meanwhile Way.

My life, of course, is much bigger than this work. I am a wife, mother of three, proud grandmother of three, and animal mom to three loyal companions. Family matters deeply to me, as do the ordinary moments, relationships and connections that make a life a life.

Nature is another important part of who I am. My lake retreat has become my oasis, a place for reflection, healing, laughter and clarity. It is often there, in the stillness, that I hear myself most clearly.

My professional life has also shaped how I understand and support others. My foundation includes more than 20 years in nursing, primarily in public health. My path into coaching wasn't separate from everything that came before it; it was an evolution of it. I have trained in life, wellness and spiritual coaching and continue to develop my practice through further professional education. My studies in Healing Touch, end-of-life support, and trauma, grief and transition informed practices are also helping shape the larger vision for Meanwhile Way.

But what I bring to this work goes beyond training. I know something about grief and loss. About health and relationships changing. About questioning identities and roles that once seemed certain. About spiritual searching. And about appearing capable and functional on the outside while something much quieter is shifting underneath. That combination of lived experience, professional experience and a deep curiosity about how we move through change is what I bring to Meanwhile Way. I created this space for women who find themselves somewhere between what was and what comes next. Sometimes there is an obvious transition. Sometimes nothing dramatic has happened at all. You simply know something has changed. My role isn't to fix you or tell you what your next chapter should look like. It is to create a safe, steady space where you can slow down enough to hear yourself again. To explore what you've carried, what you've lost, what you've outgrown, what you still want, and what may be ready to emerge. Because perhaps this season isn't asking you to become someone new. Perhaps it's asking you to become more fully present to the woman who is already here.

That is the heart of Meanwhile Way. ‍

A Note About My Nursing Background

My nursing and public health experience is an important part of the perspective I bring to this work. However, services offered through Meanwhile Way are separate from my nursing practice.

I do not provide nursing assessment, diagnosis, treatment, medical advice or other nursing services through Meanwhile Way. Coaching and other services offered here are intended to support reflection, wellbeing, personal growth and life transitions, and are not a substitute for medical or mental health care.
